Consolidated 28-6 PBY-6A/Catalina ain 2029, currently as VH-CAT, has had a long and checquered career. Built for the U.S. Navy with serial no. Bu. 46665, post-'War it was briefly registered as N9555C before heading off down to Chile about 1958 for Transa Chile, where it was allotted CC-CNG. Work was not completed on it, and it passed to Aeroservicio Parrague in 1959; it was re-registered as CC-CNP, and named as "Manutara II".

Eventually to Spain, ferried as EC-593, then reg'd as EC-FXN. It appeared on the Oz 'register as VH-DUL on 22 July 2007, and was apparently sold to N160AT on 26 September 2008. This sale was cancelled, and - as VH-CAT - it was returned to the Oz 'register on 13 January 2009.

Looks a bit tired, but great to see one.
