DH-60M Gipsy Moth ain 1403 was built by De Havillands at Stag Lane, Middlesex and given a U.K. C. of A. on 30 August 1929. It was sold to the Civil Aviation Branch of the Dept. of Defence and added to the Oz 'register as VH-ULM on C. of R. #414 on 01 December 1930 - this shows the aircraft being on loan to the Tasmanian Aero Club. It had accumulated 2385.20 hrs by 13 November 1939, and saw little use during the 'War. It transferred to the R.V.A.C. on 12 September 1946, thence to A.R.Hardidge on 01 March 1949. Some dozen owners flew it until it was cancelled on 21 January 1977. After a rebuild following long storage, it was returned to the 'register as VH-ULN on 12 February 2002, this changing to the original VH-ULM on 24 May 2006. And I do hope Reg will remember a couple of shooters who passed through "Balgi" on 05 June 1961 . . .

I am one of the previous owners of VH-ULM and am pleased to see that it is still flying. My name is Reg Betts and I purchased ULM on the 01/10//56 for £1,361 and sold it on the 21/11/58 for £500. Happy flying
